Finally I managed to start with a template for the press release. Right now I’m facing some technical issues trying to create a new nextcloud document but I wanted to start with it anyway since there is little time left…
Here is a short text that I have written so far (partly taken from our flyer), please feel free to contribute and correct it!! If you are able to create a document in nextcloud, please feel free to do so!

On this day there will be more than XX different public events in XX different countries all over the world to share alternatives to a growth based society. From a cosy picnic in San Salvador with home made food and a discussion about the origin and manner of food production to a degrowth festival in Montreal with many presentations around degrowth, music and theatre…
The Degrowth community is a diverse movement for global justice, sustainability and well-being. By putting different ideas into practice we want to create a more self-determined and thoughtful way of living together. A global action day helps to connect different existing initiatives to bundle up their ideas and power to a colorful world wide movement for degrowth.
Together we want to show: A good life for all is possible!"

An diesem Tag werden mehr als XX verschiedene öffentliche Veranstaltungen in XX verschiedenen Ländern auf der ganzen Welt stattfinden, um sich über Alternativen zu einer wachstumsbasierten Gesellschaft auszutauschen. Von einem gemütlichen Picknick in San Salvador mit hausgemachtem Essen und einer Diskussion über die Herkunft und Art der Lebensmittelherstellung bis zu einem Degrowth-Festival in Montreal mit vielen Präsentationen rund um Postwachstum, Musik und Theater…
Die Degrowth-Community ist eine vielfältige Bewegung, die sich für eine sozial-ökologische Gesellschaft einsetzt. Indem wir verschiedene Ideen in die Praxis umsetzen, wollen wir eine selbstbestimmte und gleichberechtigte Art des Zusammenlebens schaffen. Ein globaler Aktionstag hilft dabei, verschiedene bestehende Initiativen zu verbinden, um ihre Ideen und Kräfte zu einer farbenfrohen weltweiten Bewegung für degrowth zu bündeln.

Hey, I’ve sent the email Ana has created to the list of organizers, one bunch through our email account, the other half as a message via the agora forum. The only thing I couldn’t do was to update the press release (I’m not able to make changes within the document). Could somebody try to update the number of events? I counted 38… Arndt mentioned 40?!

La croissance économique habituellement acclamée universellement, ne l’est plus maintenant. Les conséquences environnementales et sociales d’une dépendance à la croissance généralisée ont amené de plus en plus de voix dans les universités et la société civile à réclamer des alternatives. La Journée mondiale de la décroissance est une journée pour célébrer ces alternatives.
Au cours de cette journée, il y aura environ 40 événements publics dans au moins 15 pays du monde entier pour partager des alternatives à une société basée sur la croissance.
